There are so many things for which I want to give thanks to you, my Friend. Your word reveals so much about you and the friendship that you offer— a friendship like no other. You see me in all my disparate parts, the good and the bad, all patched together like a quilt gradually sewn over the years of my life.
Some of the pieces are worn and ragged from being clung to for far too long. The color has grown dingy from the lack of cleansing. There are some pieces that stand out as wildly out of character with the others—segments of time woven out of strange cloth of glittering sequins. But, further out toward the edges the beauty of your friendship has begun to stitch a soft velvety rich pattern that will one day frame the whole of me. One day, that last velvety corner, will be fastened in place, wrapping me in all of you. One day, we will meet—face to face— my dearest Friend and loving Father, and this patchwork of a life will reveal the wisdom of the Tailor.
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” Ephesians 2:10
