The Lord is the great and mighty One. He is the healer and the Savior. As I sit here writing, my mind is flooded with all the needs I bring before his throne. So many people, with so many needs. My list seems to grow continually, but not that many get the great green ✅ of answered. I’m not complaining. I know he is at work in each and every life I bring before him. I thank him for this. I thank him for the glimpses of his actions that appear briefly from time to time.
It can be disheartening at times when I zoom out and see the vast landscape of chaos. There is upheaval everywhere, whether it’s the masses or the individuals, chaos is flashing its bright amber warnings. Politics inflamed with anger, nations in conflict, marriages, illnesses, people on the streets devouring one another. It can cause a heart to skip a beat in anxious trepidation.
But, then I kneel before the throne, it’s massive scale, it’s brilliance, it’s power that shakes the pillars of creation, and my vision is adjusted. One by one, he lets me see my list in microscopic peeks, little glimpses of Majesty in motion. This is a gift for which I say thanks. It’s amazing how comforting these glimpses can be to an anxious soul. My heart regains it’s normal rhythm. My thoughts restored to reality – – the King is on the throne.
To the average eye, it seems like nothing has changed. But, to the eye that recognizes the humble role of the child who reaches up to grasp, in trust, the Father’s capable hand, all is as it is meant to be for now…
“He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in. Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.”
